VANESA NIETO, MSc
Clinical Psychologist, C.Psych
Hi! I am a registered clinical psychologist in Alberta and Ontario who specializes in attachment injuries, childhood trauma and interpersonal relationships. I believe that past experiences and relationships can affect your decisions, identity, and how you relate and interact with others. I researched and published about how growing up with a parent with a severe mental illness affects adults' decisions, future relationships and identity.
Working with individuals at different developmental stages has enriched my understanding of how to help adults who experienced adversity in childhood.

MY PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
-
Doctorate candidate in Clinical Psychology from Southern California University - Completing her doctoral project in identity reconstruction after adversity.
-
Intensive Training in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at Harvard University.

Master's degree in Psychology from Sheffield University (UK) and the University of Alberta (Canada). Published in APA journal master's thesis about "the experience of growing up with a parent with schizophrenia".
-

I can deliver sessions in English and Spanish.
A little bit more about me... I lived in different countries and lost count of how many I visited. I love experiencing new cultures and meeting new people with different worldviews. But I am always happy to go home and spend time with my two furry friends - Nara and Lola.
